United States Supreme Court decisions directly affect attorney general offices’ ability to enforce state laws and defend government officials’ conduct. In this program, NAAG’s Center for Supreme Court Advocacy will host two of the nation’s leading U.S. Supreme Court practitioners to discuss the Supreme Court’s recently completed 2020 Term.
Nicole Saharsky co-heads Mayer Brown’s Supreme Court & Appellate Practice. She previously served for ten years as an assistant to the solicitor general in the U.S. Department of Justice, where she was responsible for briefing and arguing cases in the U.S. Supreme Court. She has argued 30 cases before the Court. Kannon Shanmugam chairs the Supreme Court and Appellate Practice Group at Paul Weiss. Prior to private practice, Kannon also served as an assistant to the solicitor general at the U.S. Department of Justice. He has argued 32 cases before the Court.
