The Administrative and Constituent Services Coordinator provides mission-critical support to the Attorney General’s Office. Duties include greeting guests and other arrivals at the Attorney General’s Office in Montpelier; receiving and directing incoming phone calls, mail, and emails; and providing administrative support to the office’s leadership team, including the Attorney General herself.
The primary day-to-day function of this position is providing reception desk coverage for the office and assisting constituents and others who reach out to the office for support, primarily by phone or email. Much of this work requires compassion, empathy, and critical thinking skills to help solve problems and connect constituents with appropriate resource referrals, most commonly in state government.
The Attorney General’s Office has approximately 150 employees, including over 90 attorneys, and is divided into six divisions (Administration, Human Services, General Counsel & Administrative Law, Civil, Criminal, and Environmental & Public Protection). Examples of administrative support provided by the Administrative and Constituent Services Coordinator include maintaining internal directories (like phone lists and personnel rosters), coordinating office supplies and work orders, and managing receipt of office mail.
Experience working in a law firm or legal setting is preferred. The position is located at 109 State Street in Montpelier and reports to the Chief of Staff. This is not a remote position.
This position is classified as an Administrative Services Coordinator I by the Department of Human Resources. The salary range is $24.59-$38.27/hr.
