Are you dedicated to enforcing state and federal antitrust laws? Do you want to join a growing team of attorneys who fight income inequality on behalf of the people of California?

The California Department of Justice is seeking multiple attorneys to join the Public Rights Division, Antitrust Law Section. This position may be filled in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, or Sacramento. Some travel may be required.

The Antitrust Law Section is charged with responsibility for civil and criminal enforcement of California’s antitrust laws. It has authority to file civil actions under federal antitrust laws and civil and criminal actions under state laws.

This position has a hybrid work schedule. In-office days are dependent on the caseload and other assignments.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Complex civil litigation in both state and federal courts
  • Investigation of potential antitrust violations
  • Analysis of mergers and acquisitions
  • Legal research
  • Advice to governmental agencies and other sections on antitrust issues
  • Criminal prosecution
  • Preparation of appellate briefs

Salary Ranges (Monthly):

  • DAG (0-5 years of legal experience) $7,737.00 – $11,173.00
  • DAG III (5+ years of legal experience) $10,536.00 – $13,526.00
  • DAG IV (6+ years of legal experience) $11,644.00 – $14,954.00

Qualifications

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Antitrust experience
  • Complex civil litigation experience
  • Strong analytical, research and writing skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be an active member of the California State Bar.
