**Position Overview**:
As the Deputy General Counsel, you’ll support the General Counsel in advising the Attorney General and the senior leadership team at the Office on a wide and dynamic range of issues. You’ll work on some of the most important legal issues facing Arkansas alongside some of the state’s brightest legal minds.
Responsibilities

- Represent the interests of the Office at internal and external meetings with state, federal, and private-sector stakeholders.
- Complete high priority research projects, often on tight deadlines.
- Draft, review, and edit the Office’s contracts.
- Collaborate with all of the Office’s divisions in strategic planning for litigation, investigations, legislation, communications, and policy.
- Review and edit the Office’s filings in high-profile litigation and Attorney General Opinions.
- Be aggressive in solving problems or—still better—spotting issues and preventing problems in the first place.
Qualifications
**Qualifications**:
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, along with an Arkansas law license or the ability to obtain a license quickly.
- At least two years of legal experience preferred, but applications from exceptional recent graduates will be considered. Experience in transactional law and employment law are especially desirable.
- Elite research and writing skills.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
