Case Description
The State of California sought damages, administrative costs and injunctive relief, alleging that Defendant company conspired to fix the price of its jeans, thus resulting in overcharges to consumers during the 1970’s. The parties entered a settlement in which Levi Strauss agreed to pay $12.5 million. Of the settlement sum, $9.3 million was allocated for consumer refunds, $2.2 million was allocated for administrative expenses, and $1.2 million went toward attorneys fees.
