Case Description
Florida sought injunctive relief, civil penalties and reimbursement of investigative costs and attorney’s fees, alleging that defendant automobile repair shops conspired to restrain trade and competition for auto body repair services. In order to resolve the dispute without further litigation, the defendant auto body shops entered a consent decree, agreeing to refrain from entering any agreement with other providers affecting the price for which auto body repair services and parts were offered. The defendant auto body shops further agreed to a settlement sum totaling $35,000 in civil penalties, costs of the investigation and attorney’s fees.
