Case Description
Plaintiff state sought to enjoin Defendant newspaper companies from closing down a newspaper, alleging that the closure of the newspaper would reduce the amount of competition in the newspaper business, in violation of The Sherman Act. §§ 1 and 2. The court granted the injunction, finding that closure of the newspaper company would deprive consumers of free and open competition and would be considered an attempt to monopolize by Defendant companies.
