Case Description
State sought damages and injunctive relief, alleging that Defendant, Mid-Minnesota Associated Physicians, negotiated contracts on behalf of their physician members having the effect of collectively refusing to deal with third-party payors unless the payors formed an integrated joint venture. In order to resolve the dispute without further litigation, Defendant entered a consent decree, agreeing to pay a civil penalty of $50,000 and provide $100,000 of free medical care.
