Case Description
State of Ohio filed suit on behalf of 25 Toledo area school districts claiming that BFI and its competitors allocated the waste removal market in the Toldeo/Lucas county area. Complaint alleged that BFI and its competitors distributed the market share amongst themselves. In addition companies provided inflated bids so as not to take business from another company. Case settled with a payment of $700,000, with the Attorney General retaining the right to inspect, and with an injunction against the defendants from engaging in the conduct for which they were sued.
