In December 2017, Erin Schechter was named chief administrative officer for the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) and its National Attorneys General Training and Research Institute (NAGTRI). In this role Erin oversees administrative operations including information technology and web services, general human resources, meeting planning, facilities, and contract and budget management. Prior to this appointment, Erin served three years as the NAGTRI chief administrator, during which she oversaw the daily operations of all NAGTRI trainings, and four years planning and executing NAAG annual meetings.

Prior to joining NAAG in 2010, Erin spent over 5 years learning event operations in various hotels in Washington, D.C. Erin held the position of senior meetings and special events manager at the Ritz Carlton, Washington, D.C., and conference services manager/banquet manager at the Willard InterContinental Hotel. In these capacities, she managed events for groups with high profile executives, delegations and heads-of-state. She also managed social functions such as weddings and bat mitzvahs. Erin started her hospitality career with the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill as an administrative assistant and quickly moved her way through the catering office and food and beverage outlets.

Erin has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from The College of New Jersey and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration from American University. She is a member of the American Society of Association Executives and Professional Convention Management Association, through which she became a certified meeting professional (CMP).
