Lucia Padilla is a Senior Assistant Attorney General within the Civil Litigation and Employment Section of the Colorado Attorney General’s Office. As an Assistant Attorney General, Ms. Padilla represents state agencies in employment disputes in federal and state court and administrative proceedings. Ms. Padilla advises clients under federal and state law regarding discrimination, anti-harassment, and retaliation, wage and hour compliance, disability, pregnancy, and family medical leave, and equal pay issues. Ms. Padilla was formerly Senior Assistant General Counsel for Denver Health where she provided counsel in a wide variety of areas, including employment and healthcare compliance. Prior to joining Denver Health, Ms. Padilla was in-house counsel at CenturyLink where she handled employment and labor litigation, including nation-wide class action lawsuits. Previously, Ms. Padilla worked as an associate attorney at Isaacson Rosenbaum in Denver where she practiced civil litigation.

Ms. Padilla is active in the legal community and serves on the Denver Law Alumni Council and Denver Law Latino Alumni Council. Ms. Padilla is a member of and sat on various boards including the Colorado Bar Association’s Board of Governors, the Denver Bar Association’s Board of Trustees, the Denver Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Division,. Ms. Padilla was a former chair of the Board of Directors of Bayaud Enterprises, a non-profit organization that provides employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Ms. Padilla serves as a mentor for the Colorado Bar Association’s and Department of Law’s attorney mentoring programs. Ms. Padilla received Denver Law’s Outstanding Young Alumni Award and the Denver Bar Association Young Lawyer of the Year Award.

In her free time, Ms. Padilla enjoys running, mountain biking, skiing, and trying to keep up with her three children.
