Matt Chimienti is an Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Illinois Attorney General’s Special Litigation Bureau. Matt’s practice focuses on public interest litigation, including Illinois False Claims Act investigations and lawsuits, civil rights and workplace rights litigation, defense of constitutional challenges to state statutes and regulations, and fraud investigations into public bodies and private companies. Prior to joining the Office of the Illinois Attorney General in 2017, Matt began his career as an associate with Schiff Hardin LLP and Riley Safer Holmes & Cancila LLP, where his practice focused on product liability and mass tort litigation. Matt is also an adjunct professor of applied trial practice at Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where he coaches the school’s Civil Law Mock Trial Team. Matt received his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
