Ryan Wilson is a Senior Trial Counsel for the Public Advocacy Division of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, which litigates affirmative civil enforcement actions with a particular emphasis on protecting vulnerable and disadvantaged communities. In his role, Ryan leads complex, high-profile litigation in all the Division’s subject areas. Ryan also supervises and mentors attorneys on all aspects of litigation, including brief writing, depositions, and trial preparation.
Prior to joining the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, Ryan worked for 12 years as a Senior Trial Attorney in the Civil Rights Division of the United States Department of Justice. At the Justice Department, Ryan investigated and litigated cases throughout the United States to protect the rights of children in courts, prisons and jails, schools, and mental health facilities. Ryan is proud to be a “double Tarheel,” having received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
