Thor Inouye is the Director of Attorney Recruiting, Professional Development, and Diversity for the Office of the Illinois Attorney General. Thor joined the Office in 2013 in the General Law Bureau and has served in the Civil Rights, Administrative Review, and Inmate Litigation Units. Prior to joining the Office, Thor was an attorney for the Michigan Attorney General’s Office in the Public Employment, Elections, and Torts Division. Thor has practiced as both an in-house and as a private firm attorney as well as an deputy public defender in Colorado. He has first-chaired more than thirty jury trials and briefed and argued cases before the Colorado and Michigan Courts of Appeals. As a former high school teacher, he has enjoyed teaching several continuing legal education classes on substantive issues including affirmative action, criminal law, and inmate litigation as well as practical skills courses on subjects ranging from trial skills to discovery and motions practice.
